INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

 

65th Indenpendence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and great enthusiasm at Shri. Muthuswamy Iyer auditorium of SIES High School. The Chief Guest Shri. Arvind Narayanan (Ex-student of SIES High School) unfurled the tri-colour, which was followed by National Anthem and patriotic songs by students. The entire event was meticulously planned by the members of SIES High School Ex-Student's Association and teaching faculty of the school. The cultural programmes organized by pre-primary, primary and secondary sections brought back nostalgic memories of freedom struggle. Everything was indeed a feast to the eyes and ears. Top scorers of SSC Examination March 2010-11 were felicitated. The entire auditorium reverberated with the clapping of the audience when the names of the endowment winners were announced. Chairman of SIES High School Ex-Student's Association Shri. Narasimhan introduced the guest for the day and presented him with a shawl and memento. Mrs. Lavanya Arvind was presented with a shawl by our Headmistress Mrs. Mangala Panchapakesan. Best Teacher Award for all three sections was announced by the Chairman and the suspense for the same was broken out. Headmistress Mrs. Mangala Panchapakesan bagged the award in secondary section, Mrs. Jaya Sridhar bagged it for the primary and Head Teacher of pre-primary Mrs. Geeta Krishnan bagged the same. Chief Guest Shri. Arvind Narayanan addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of school days in an individual's life. Vote of thanks was proposed by the Treasurer of SIES Ex-Student's Association - Shri. C. V. Subramanian. The programme concluded with the singing of 'Vande Mataram'.
